Yoruba Tennis Club on Lagos Island has revamped its jazz session tagged Jazz Summit, with an inaugural session. Club members were treated to a night of Afro, traditional and classic jazz, which brought back nostalgia to the elderly members of the club, all die-hard jazz lovers.

The Jazz Summit reunited all the club’s jazz lovers as they sang and danced to tunes after tunes from rendition of Band PH, which electrified the venue with Jazz song from the 1970s and the 1980s.

President of Jazz Summit group, Yoruba Tennis club, Ambassador Segun Akinsanya, said that the summit was an addition to the landscape of the club, adding that it is aimed at uniting people of different socio-cultural groups to relax and enjoy jazz tunes that will help to calm their nerves and brains after a hard day’s work: “This is the inaugural jazz session; we hope to do it every month.”

Chairman of the club, Prof. Adetokunbo Fabanwo, said that as a jazz lover and chairman of the club, “I decided to bring back the jazz session because jazz is an attitude and with so many jazz lovers, who are members of the club, we feel it was necessary to add it to our numerous other social activities so that our members can have the maximum enjoyment they deserve. Jazz Summit is for only members of Yoruba Tennis club and their guests.”

Social Secretary of the club, Charles Bolaji Medes, said Jazz Summit was brought back to the club to give members, who are Jazz lovers, the opportunity to catch fun to the fullest.

The event was graced by South Africa Consul-General to Lagos, Nigeria, Dr. Darkey Africa.
