The Senior Pastor, House on the Rock, Paul Adefarasin, has enjoined President Muhammadu Buhari to concentrate on infrastructural development, power and corruption in the land.
The cleric particularly wants the nation’s number one citizen to deal decisively with those whom he refers to as enemies of Nigeria who have been depleting the national treasury.
Speaking yesterday in Lagos to round off the church’s The Spirit Life Conference with the theme, Emerge, Adefarasin congratulated the President on his return from the prolonged medical vacation in the United Kingdom.
He noted that it has become imperative to eliminate those barriers standing in the way of the nation’s greatness, reminding Buhari that he came to office on the strength of his electoral promises to solve these problems.
The cleric, who commended Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for successfully standing-in for the President while away, said Nigerians were still expectant of the change the current administration promised during electioneering, imploring it to reinvent the crusade.
Adefarasin underscored the importance of energy, which according to him, was germane to the development of Nigeria, especially in the area of industrialisation and investments.
He canvassed the diversification of the national economy in the face of the free fall of the global price of crude oil which invariably has impacted negatively on government’s revenue in the last two years.
On infrastructure, he said efforts must be sustained in this direction by ensuring that facilities that encourage innovations are in place.
Adefarasin urged the Federal Government to fervently tackle the issues of corruption and security, noting that pockets of clashes in parts of the federation were constituting a big disservice to the administration. He specifically cited the sinister activities of herdsmen and the resurgent Boko Haram Islamic sect as some of the cases that readily come to mind.
The cleric, who hinged the nation’s major problems on crisis of value, admonished youths to stay away from vices, reminding them that the negative use of the Internet would attract God’s judgment.
