Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has warned against importation of violence into the All Progressives Congress (APC). He said this against the backdrop of a shooting crisis that engulfed the party, yesterday, leading to the death of one person in the state.
In a statement read by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Sam Onwuemeodo, Okorocha, who is chairman of APC Governors’ Forum, stressed the need for “progressive-minded fellows,” who ought to embrace the party’s philosophy of ‘no do or die affair.’ He said those fanning embers of disunity in the party will not achieve their aim.
“The issue of who becomes or who should be the party chairman in the state is such a minor issue that could be resolved at the zonal, state or national level and should not have warranted some people resorting to violence.”
