https://guardian.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/mariah-carey-ready-to-sparkle-reality-2016-gossip-e1503674943112.jpg

This week our President came back from the past like the Terminator, his batteries recharged and gimlet eye focused on those disturbing Nigeria’s future. Mariah Carey showed a new talent for denial and Funke Akindele finally revealed her baby bump. These are the stories that made our week.

Mariah denies her diva moments

Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey (of all people) has denied she is a ‘true’ diva in a revealing new cover interview with Paper Magazine. Posing topless, Mariah said people who call her a diva don’t know what a true diva is. This was from the side-profile obsessed woman who demanded $50 million from her ex, Aussie billionaire James Parker, who bought two first class air plane tickets for her dogs and climbed, fully clothed into a petal-filled bath during her historic episode of MTV cribs. Ok. We love you anyway Mariah.

Funkiest baby ever?

Funke Akindele Bello steps out on stage at Glo Lafta Fest with her baby bump

Some babies are born laughing and we’d bet Madueke money that actress Funke Akindele’s expected baby will emerge already giggling at Mummy’s comic timing. Father JJC Skillz’s crooning skills will also no doubt come in handy to soothe baby to sleep. This week she finally revealed that she is expecting her first child with former Big Brovas star Skillz who already has three children from former relationships.

Buhari back with a …boring speech

President Muhammadu Buhari

President Buhari resumed his Presidential duties in Nigeria this week after over 100 days in the UK dealing with his medical issues. After giving a long and rather boring speech, with the expected statements on being happy to be back, national unity and defeating terrorism, he left no-one in doubt of his fitness to resume office.

Deadly talcum powder

Johnson Baby Powder

You may reconsider your habits of powdering yourself or your children with talcum powder after Johnson & Johnson were hit with a $417 million (150 billion Naira) judgment after a woman caught cervical cancer after using their products. The company still defends the safety of Johnson & Johnson Baby Powder and vows to appeal but an avalanche of lawsuits are being prepared against them across the USA.

Blues player sees red after Ebola comment

Eniola Aluko

Eniola Aluko, an English forward who plays for Chelsea Ladies (Her brother is Sone Aluka, a Nigerian international footballer) is at the centre of a racism storm after her bullying allegations were dismissed by the English Football Association. England Boss Mark Sampson was cleared of bullying and discrimination after a closed investigation but Aluko is demanding an independent investigation into fresh allegations that Sampson made a racist comment about her family in Nigeria being affected with the Ebola virus.
