Vitafoam appoints new directors to boost corporate governance

In a move to strengthen its corporate governance for enhanced performance, Vitafoam Nigeria Plc, has appointed two independent non- executive directors and a non-executive director to its board.

The newly appointed directors whose tenure begins in October are: Professor Rosemary Iviowen Egonmwan, Mohammed Goni Alkali and Gerson Silver.

A scholar and academic of over 30 years experience, Egonmwan who has been appointed an independent non-executive director holds a B.Sc Degree and an M.Sc in Zoology from the University of Lagos. She also obtained a D.Phil. in Zoology from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom (UK).

She was Senior Environmental Adviser to Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCO) from 2009–2010 and served on the Board of Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) from 2012-2016, among others.

Alkali holds a B.Sc Degree in Accounting from the Bayero University, Kano and an M.Sc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics, University of London.

Silver, a Brazilian, is a Chemical Scientist with competency in Polyurethane (PU) Systems, a core production component of Vitafoam and Vitapur (a sandwich panels and chemical systems subsidiary of Vitafoam).
